To help our cause 'You Be You' has put together a set of plays to be performed at school assemblies to help bring awareness to this cause and show the impact bullying has. We also provide statistic awareness and hope to present a program for schools to put in place an outlet for those who witness bullying or are bullied themselves. We accept all types of donations, including costume donations (for plays), monetary donations, facility donations (rehearsals and operations) and therapists who wish to donate their time to help these youths.

'A Summer In Love' Fashion Show - Awareness

Our mission at You be You is to not only focus on the bullied, but the person doing the bullying as well. We believe that attacking the issue where it begins is key to successfully slowing down this epidimic.
In order to bring awareness to the effects of bullying we have compiled several plays depicting various bullying situations, outcomes, and overall messages. We also attack the plays from different points of views (bully, bullied, bystander, adult/ teacher). With these plays we hope to impact our audience and provoke the emotion in them to get them to understand how much pain is involved when a person is being bullied.
How many times have you heard a former bully say " I remember when I used to bully Jake, and what i put him through. I feel bad about that now," and genuinely mean it. Believe it or not, bullying affects the bullies TOO. They often deal with feelings of regret or are victims of bullying themselves. Some have troubled home lives and all that inward hurt and pain they project outwards onto others in the form of bullying.
We also strive to bring our bullied and bully together to 'squash the beef', so to speak. This involves having them work together in an obstacle course or fashion show...something to help them build a positive relationship with one another. This gets them to take action to accept one another and not just words.
